Mae Krier
Mae Krier is an original Rosie the Riveter. During WWII she became a riveter with BOEING in Seattle, WA, working on B-17’s and B-29’s. For decades Mae has been committed to sharing Rosie’s legacy. She worked with other Rosies to get the 1st Natl Rosie the Riveter Day in 2017 and also the Congressional Gold Medal in 2020. Today, at 97 years old, she travels the world promoting Rosie’s legacy. In 2018, the FB page Honor Rosie was created by Mae’s friends Will Robinson and Deb Woolson. Deb is the administrator of Honor Rosie and is Mae’s partner on ‘Breaking Barriers with Mae Krier’. During the covid pandemic, Mae, with the help of companies, groups and individuals made over 6,000 red and white polka dot face masks to give away. In 2022 the BOEING Starliner rocket blasted off to the Intl Space Station with a mannequin named Rosie the Rocketeer in the commander’s seat wearing Mae’s handmade bandana and face mask.
Breaking Barriers with Mae Krier is a monthly podcast featuring the accomplishments of women and continuing the promotion of Rosie’s Legacy.
