This speaks volumes to me in the present moment.
When you have trauma, and it has caused PTSD you find yourself trying to fight the memories and suffering more as a result.
It’s an obvious statement that one should not look outward and to others to hide or find safety.
So thus, it forces you to reanalyze everything and look Inward once more.
So, trying to hide from suffering only brings more suffering, then one should turn towards compassion for themselves.
If we can have it for others but in truth, we can only help ourselves with suffering then we should be gentle with ourselves as if we were with others.
We must become secure with ourselves and stop trying to hide.
We must look and see what suffering must teach us and the lessons that can be learned.
But no one can be a secure refuge or hiding place from suffering.
Reminds us to turn and face our fears of the suffering one may ask themselves why they feel the need to run they lived through what caused the suffering perhaps, it’s trying to teach us something so that one can begin to journey down the path for awakening.
I realize now that things in the past are just that and nothing can be changed.
I understand that due to the programming and various trials we all face make each person who they are.
We must find compassion for those that have caused our suffering.
Just as an abused child may act out anger towards pets, the child is then causing more suffering so surely something has made others do what they do to us so we must wish them to heal and peace.
Knowing this then it’s logical to understand how to find refuge or hide in others who also suffer in ways you know nothing about can only bring more suffering.
